Used both on my kids’ phones—quick take:
- Setup: Both need physical access. Android = full features; iPhone = very limited unless jailbroken (usually iCloud backups only).
- App blocking/time limits: Neither is great. Use Apple Screen Time/Google Family Link (or Qustodio) for real blocking and schedules.
- Location: Both do GPS + geofences fine on Android; iOS is basic. Expect the odd hiccup after OS updates.
- Social media monitoring: uMobix tends to cover more apps and updates faster on Android; Spynger is more hit-or-miss. iOS DMs are mostly a no unless jailbroken.
- Ease/reliability: uMobix dashboard is a bit cleaner; both can drop off and need you to tweak battery/Play Protect settings.
Bottom line: For Android and deep social monitoring, go uMobix and pair it with Family Link for blocking; for iPhone, stick to Screen Time (maybe add Bark) and only use these for light logs/location.
