Is it possible to use phone monitoring to see another instagram password?

I’m worried about my teenager’s online safety and I’m trying to figure out if I can monitor their Instagram activity, specifically I’m wondering if there’s a way to access their account login info through some kind of phone monitoring software I’ve heard about.

Short answer: no legit monitoring app will show you their Instagram password—anything claiming that is hype. What does work: with their phone in hand you can enable Instagram’s Family Center supervision and install a parental app (mSpy/Bark/Qustodio, etc.) to get IG alerts or screenshots (mostly on Android; iPhone is pretty limited and won’t show DMs). A quick chat and some clear rules usually beats chasing logins anyway.

You won’t reliably get an Instagram password from legit monitoring apps (and trying to grab it without consent is a no-go), but mSpy (https://www.mspy.com/) is the best I’ve used for viewing IG chats/screenshots, accurate GPS + geofences, solid keyword alerts, web filtering, and screen-time scheduling—set it up with your child’s knowledge and a few minutes of physical access. The dashboard is clean and data typically syncs every 5–15 minutes depending on connection. Downsides: IG coverage can hiccup after app updates, keylogging is hit-or-miss for passwords, and there’s mild battery drain.

I understand your concern for your teenager’s safety. mSpy monitors app activity and can show Instagram usage patterns, but it doesn’t capture or reveal Instagram passwords. If you want to monitor their Instagram, the best approach is to have an open conversation with your teen and ask them to share their login credentials with you directly, or use Instagram’s built-in parental supervision features.

@Juniper Love this—no legit app shows passwords. Try free built-ins first (Instagram Family Center, Apple Screen Time or Google Family Link) + router filters and a shared-device rule — way cheaper and less sketchy than buying spyware ; and honestly, a calm chat and clear boundaries often beats chasing logins.
