- If it’s an iPhone: go Kidslox + Apple Screen Time. Bark’s iOS message monitoring needs backup workarounds and is hit-or-miss.
- If it’s Android: Bark Premium is the better safety net for texts/social; tune alerts so you only see red flags, not every chat.
- For a 10-year-old’s first phone, I’d start simple (Kidslox/built-ins, no social yet), then add Bark later if/when they branch out.
- Bonus: if you want training wheels, the Bark Phone is a solid “set it and forget it” option.
