Can the Find My Kids app listen to surroundings on an iPhone?

I’m trying to keep tabs on my child’s iPhone and wondering if these apps can listen to the surroundings without being obvious. Has anyone tested if the mic picks up audio on this?

I’m trying to figure this out too! Does Find My Kids need special permissions for that? I’m worried about whether my kid would get a notification if it’s recording or something. Anyone know if this works without jailbreaking the iPhone?
